Natalia Taylor Bowdoin
Natalia Taylor Bowdoin's work examines the ways in which disparate elements can be brought together to form a whole. Her art also explores human interactions with the natural and animal worlds and the ways texts and symbols intersect with other visual forms. Her series The Unbidden focuses on the themes of identity, tenderness, faith and aggression in intimate relationships. Some of her latest work, The Bouca Project, explores memory and reflection on the Central African Republic (C.A.R.), a country where she lived while serving in the United States Peace Corps. The C.A.R. has experienced extreme sectarian violence and massive population displacement since December 2012. Bowdoin studied art at Oberlin College, Ohio and currently resides in Augusta, Georgia.
